Week 5: Informing the school community about depression

Step 1: In groups, you will create a Movie using Moviemaker/or produce a role-play that focuses on a specific topic related to depression (See previous week)

You may wish to include the information you gathered from week two and week 4 to complete this activity. Your Movie must include the following;
  • Facts about your topic and how it correlates with depression
  • Images that reflect your chosen topic 
  • Music for engagement purposes
  • How/where to seek help 
Your role-play must;
  • Use Music/Lighting to set the scene
  • Props to emphaisise scenes 
  • Include a written script (Also needs to be approved by teacher) 
  • Consider sensitivity towards others feeling  
These role-plays and movies will be used when informing the school community about depression.

 Step 3: How could you promote good mental health as part of the school environment? Post your ideas to your blog. Collect any useful resources to give to teachers, parents and peers for the Depression Awareness Day.
